I have an unexplainable need in my heart to venture beyond what I know, and seek new experiences because God did not make this world in all its wonder and beauty for me to remain in a single place. I want to see and experience other cultures, understand the history of a country so deeply and be free to have every adventure possible.

Staycation dreaming: Resorts in Lagos for the best Staycations ✨SAVE✨

I’m due for a staycation and since it’s the weekend I made a list of resorts to visit in Lagos in case you’re also in need of a little getaway:

👉🏾 Jara Beach: this resort provides you with a designated personal concierge who personally attends to your every need (definition of a do nothing weekend 🥳).

👉🏾 Lakowe Lakes: This is the perfect destination for a little peace. Your stay comes with a bicycle which you can ride around the property ☺️. You can paddle boat in the morning and picnic in the afternoon.

👉🏾 Lacampagne Tropicana: with water sports and the beach you can choose your type of staycation; adventure or relaxation or both 🤷🏽‍♀️. Lacampagne is located on the outskirts of Lagos so if you live more than 3 hours away (which I do 🤦🏽‍♀️) a staycation will be ideal.

👉🏾 Whispering Palms: if you’re looking to explore the badagry heritage museum, the point of no return all its history and you want to make a staycation out of it then Whispering Palms is definitely the best choice for a weekend of exploration and relaxation.

P.s: the resort can organise a tour of Badagry for you, just make your enquires.

👉🏾 Jaybee Beach Camp: with secluded cabins on the beach (Tarkwa Bay) and ocean front views it’s the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of Lagos city life even if it’s just for a few days. Also, who doesn’t want a whole beach to themselves 🤔.

👉🏾 Epe Resorts: Epe Resorts is purely a place for relaxation. Where you can go after a long day of exploring the town of Epe.

👉🏾 Inagbe Grand Resorts: An island resort that offers the perfect combination of sun, sand and sea.

Staycation safely 🥰

Sometimes get anxious speaking in front of people

So, when I wanted to start travel blogging I wondered how it would go since I had to actually speak to people 😂 and get out of my comfort zone.

But it seems like since I started I’m more confident. I’m less anxious speaking in front of people, I’m putting myself out there more, having conversations with people I’ve never met in person like friends! I co-moderated my first room on clubhouse on Sunday (I gave myself a whole pep talk before) and I don’t get as anxious speaking on my stories anymore.

I have written things on my bucket list I never thought of doing. Yesterday I spent an hour researching on countries to explore by scooter 🤯.

Anyway, travel blogging has done a lot for me in a time of very little travel.

This is just a push for you not to let fear stop you from doing something amazing ❤️.
💫 My go to resources for information when planning a trip💫

✨SAVE✨

* Pinterest: it’s a really good source for travel blogs, mood boards, anything really. Don’t sleep on Pinterest! You can literally search anything from itineraries to outfit & picture inspiration 😯.

* Instagram: the tag category on Instagram is a great source of information! You can search country tags #ghana 🇬🇭, activity tags #adventureinghana 🪂, accommodations 🏡 #ghanaliving, any tag relating to where your going can be found on Instagram. Also, you can create mood boards of outfits and picture inspirations.

* Good ol’ google search 👩🏾‍💻: just research anything relating to your trip. “Is x country safe for women travelling solo”, “how safe is x country for black people”, “how to travel to x country on a budget”. You will find all the information you’ll ever need. From travel blogs to Instagram posts about it.

* Travel Blogs 💻: they are a GREAT source of information. From providing guides to recounting personal experiences. They are a great tool to planning your trip. Some of them have ready made itineraries for the country you’re looking for and great tips for travelling on a budget.
 - @nomadicmatt blog is a great source of information for budget travel.

* Guide books 📚 : there is probably a guide book for every country in the world. Again google is a great tool to use when searching for guidebooks.
 - @lonelyplanet guide books are great.

There are also individual bloggers who have published guidebooks. So again make sure you do your research.

Let me know if this helped! 😄
✨SAVE✨ How many of you have planned trips with friends that didn’t end up happening 😒, or only half of the original group eventually made the trip 🤦🏽‍♀️? You’ve done the research, the itinerary has been made however, when the time comes to make deposits everyone is like 🥴.

I came up with a few steps on how you could plan a trip that has a high possibility of happening:

👉🏾 The group of people: you know who will come through and who may flake at the last minute so pick your travel group wisely.

👉🏾 Pick an Admin 👩‍💼: the point person(s) for the trip, who is going to research, plan, and make bookings. The earlier you pick an admin the smoother the process will be.

👉🏾 Pick a destination: budget and interests interests will determine this. So, make sure your travel group all have the same budget and similar interests so settling on a destination will be less of a hassle (but remember to compromise). Beach 🏖 vacay or city 🌃 vibes or both?

👉🏾 Have a flexible itinerary: there should be a “free” day or 2 where everyone has time to do their own thing, explore themselves. It’s helps that the group doesn’t feel bombarded with activities.

👉🏾 Set General Terms 📝 : unforeseen circumstances could come up, people are bound drop out or some will delay payment but you need to set certain terms at the beginning. For example, everyone makes a deposit and whoever drops out without a valid reason looses their deposit 🤷🏽‍♀️ (they will think twice before dropping out).
 * Dropping out at the last minute with no valid reason affects the budget of the entire trip and the financial burden falls on everyone else 😡.

👉🏾 Set Deadlines: this will determine if the trip happens. If nothing is paid on time then forget it, the trip isn’t happening. This is where the deposit that was dropped earlier helps.

👉🏾 Have Fun ☺️. Planning should be fun, it isn’t a dictatorship it’s a democracy, everyone should have a say.
I love the beach.

To unwind, de-stress and just relax.

The sound of wavs against the shore, the feel of sand between your feet, the views?? Ugh the views 😍

And let’s not forget a beach sunset, it really is beautiful.

When was your last beach day?
Happy new year 🥳!

It’s 4th January 2021, and I think I am starting to get a hand of this travel blogging and content creation thing 😂, even after starting my blog a month before the pandemic I was able to put out some content and that has helped me grow in confidence and learn everyday.

A few things I want to do this year travel wise:

- Take at least one solo trip 😯
- Give you as much value as I can from my blog and Instagram 👏🏼
- Connect and collaborate with more travellers ☺️
- Inspire you to enjoy your journey and not just the destination 🤩
- Ultimately create resources that makes your travel easier and more accessible 🥰

My word for 2021 is Abundance and I hope to invoke that abundance in everything I do.

Again, happy new year 🥳. Now tell me what’s your word for 2021 (this caption was inspired by @thevoguide ❤️)
Okay picture this.

You’ve been gifted an all inclusive trip to a destination of your choice 🤩

Plane ticket ✈️, accommodation 🏨, activities ⛷, transportation 🚕, and food 🍱 have all been paid for.

You’re even given unlimited spending money 💅🏽🤑

The trip is for 10 days, where are you going 😆??

(You can do a multi country or multi city trip but it has to be within the 10 days)

My answer is in the comments, let’s have a little fun ☺️
How adventurous is your pallet 🤔?

On my day trip to Epe, I stopped at the fish market (I had to, Epe is the fishing capital of Lagos). I was planning on buying some prawns, fish and also seeing what else was being sold.

There I was, walking through the narrow cobbled market street ☺️, my guide suddenly stops and nudges me to look at what is being sold in the nearby stall.

There in a bucket and cage were 3 turtles and 2 alligators 😲. Not to be sold as pets, no, but as food.

The alligators range between 7500 & 150,000 naira depending on the size.

Would you ever eat turtle or alligator if it was presented as a delicacy or will you pass on it?

Also, what is the most unusual thing you’ve ever eaten?
